Shoreham was great to start with, straight out at 5pm on 4m and snagged a few big fellas on the first few runs, howling wind. Sail size was fine, but wind soon dropped leaving me desperate for wind on the inside where the cleanest waves were. In hindsight this was the Shoreham Sluice working its magic once more. It was gutting to have good looking waves that you bogged down on because the current was towing you at almost windspeed!! I eventually gave in and quickly rigged my 5m.

From then on life was better, lots of power out the back but a bit of oomph for the inside and by 6:30 the current had faded and some great wave rides started to occur. Waves were around chest high, but bigger out back, bigger on the inside sets. They smoothed out if you found a good one, a few kick out gybes right over the rock groynes, some healthy off the top spray. By 8pm I was getting some big long rides as the swell topped over 2m.

it was cross shore 25-30mph for the whole sesh.
